Tough questions for the I-35 caps
A duck (I think?) enjoying Mueller's walkability.

Today City Council went ahead and approved an application for a $191M loan from the state infrastructure bank to help fund caps and stitches on the soon-to-be-expanded I-35.

The city has estimated the total cost of the caps & stitches at $880M. We've already received a $105M federal grant, but are now looking for how to fund the rest.

The loan application passed on consent with no debate, but some of the questions asked of staff in the customary Q&A that accompanies each Council agenda hints at some skepticism from CM Paige Ellis, the biggest active transportation proponent on the dais.
