Daniel Salazar, who’s been covering the Austin Chamber of Commerce’s vain attempts to lure Amazon to town, breaks the news on Twitter:
Either in anticipation or in response to requests to disclose whatever it offered Amazon, the Chamber penned a blog post saying that it wouldn’t.
Lest folks interpret Amazon’s selection of NYC and NoVa as a failure on their part, the Chamber also details the many things that it has done over the past 15 years. Some of the successes are just general indicators of economic prosperity (rising incomes, new jobs, increase in college grads). But the Chamber also highlights its many advocacy efforts, such as its lobbying for transportation funding, support for a new medical school and, last but not least, its creation of “the Austin A-List of the Hottest Startup Companies.”
