Getting housing for the homeless right
A rendering of Cady Lofts, a new permanent supportive housing development opening in Central Austin.

It's good to occasionally highlight instances of success in Austin's battle against homelessness, which can sometimes seem so hopeless. There are also some other problems in the world right now, in case you didn't notice, so here's a little bit of good news: Cady Lofts, a 100-unit permanent supportive housing development at 1004 E 39th St, is now accepting residents.

The new homes exist despite the best efforts of the Hancock Neighborhood Association to block the development through the zoning process three years ago.
