Two Democratic clubs decline to oppose Mackenzie Kelly?

Weird endorsements
New signs put in place by the city in response to requests for a four-way stop. How is this safer and less confusing than just putting in place a four-way stop?

I've frequently mentioned that the once-formidable Austin Neighborhoods Council has faded into political obsolescence. The same may be true of many of the city's Democratic clubs, which were historically key centers of influence in local races.

Consider the endorsements announced in recent days by the Central Austin Dems and the Austin Environmental Dems:

There are obviously bound to be differences of opinion among Democrats about which Democrat to support in most of these races. And unsurprisingly, the membership, which skews older and growth-skeptic, is leaning towards the NIMBY Dems (Tovo, Guzman, Bledsoe, Duchen etc)

But what is truly astounding is that neither of these groups endorsed in City Council District 6, where liberal Krista Laine is challenging incumbent Council Member Mackenzie Kelly, the only Republican on the dais.
